In this talk, Thomas Cumberbatch reflects on identity, purpose, and what happens when the thing you build your life around suddenly disappears. After football ended, he found himself at a loss, unsure of who he was without the sport that had defined him for years. That rupture forced him to ask deeper questions about meaning, joy, and where purpose actually lives.
Through rediscovering photography, Thomas began a new path that eventually led to the creation of Godzpeed. What started as a creative outlet grew into a branding and growth practice rooted in helping people and organizations uncover their essence. Years later, despite outward success, he found himself facing another morph, overwhelmed and disconnected, needing to return to those same questions with honesty.
Thomas reframes purpose as something collective rather than individual, shaped through connection, collaboration, and community. He speaks openly about humility, legacy, and the importance of not navigating change alone. The talk is a reminder that morphs are uncomfortable, but they hold clarity, alignment, and the potential to reconnect with what truly matters.
