Event 0008

Stories That Matter

Tickets

Every artist holds the power to do something bigger with their work - to tell a story that leaves an impact on anyone who encounters it. On May 11th, two speakers will share the ways they incorporate storytelling into their own work. As a children’s book illustrator, Gillian Reid uses dynamic illustrations and character design to tell a visual story, leaving valuable impressions on young minds. On the other hand, Melanie Yugo uses the power of storytelling to elevate racialized voices in her zines and prints, illuminating truths and bringing together communities.

Join us for an evening you’ll be sure to remember!

Here’s what you can expect at our upcoming speaker event:

Make new creative friends! The first hour of the event is dedicated to networking. Don’t be scared, we promise the ambiance will be super laid back. Grab a drink, have some food and have a chat with a stranger!

Get yourself a zine (and more)!
Zines 0002 to 0005 and more ODC products will be available for sale at the event.

Have some food and drinks!
Light food will be provided at the event, drinks are for sale at the bar.

IMPORTANT: Please stay home if you’re not feeling well or have symptoms associated with COVID-19. Masks will be available for anyone who wishes to wear one.

Should any speakers fall sick, the event will still proceed. Tickets are non-refundable and any updates will be communicated to you as early as possible.
