Tickets: Zine Launch
On October 16, Wallack Galleries opens its doors for the launch of Pivotal Moments. This 240+ page zine was created in collaboration with the New York Design Club. Each copy is printed with care: a black cover layered with white and silver inks, a lenticular insert, and inner pages brought to life with Xerox Iridesse specialty inks. Inside, you’ll find stories of doubt, leaps, and the creative pivots that shape our paths.
The launch night transforms the gallery into a large-scale paper installation. Walls filled with quotes, artwork, and moments from the zine create an environment you can step into, with contributions from twelve Ottawa artists. Expect music, conversation, and plenty of opportunities to connect while experiencing Pivotal Moments in both print and space.
The celebration continues through the weekend with hands-on workshops led by featured artists and a closing event. On Saturday, we’ll gather for a finissage, the traditional closing of an exhibition, with specialty coffee setting the stage for one last chance to meet the artists, revisit the installation, and toast the stories that brought us together.

Opening
Pivotal Moments begins with twelve Ottawa voices whose stories and visuals fill the walls and pages: Alisha Giroux, Sarah Farmer, Andrea Reade, Dennis Moran, Chris Glabb, Ryan Antooa, Jared Lebel, Albert Nguyen, Dominic Laporte, Anaïs Labrèque, Caroline Sarrette, and Isabelle Poirier. The evening brings together their work, music by Jared Lebel, and plenty of space to connect with the community.

Learn to bring characters to life in Superhero Sketching with Dennis Moran.
Finissage
We close the weekend with a final gathering at Wallack Galleries. Enjoy coffee from Apéro Mobile Café, meet the artists, and take in the installation one last time during a relaxed Saturday afternoon celebration.
